Great little Downtown English style restaurant /bar. Good food and drinks! Get adventurous and try some kangaroo or wild bore. Or enjoy some of the more "American" entrées.

very disappointing. menu sounded great, place was busy but no wait for a table upstairs. was cold on deck being winter and heat didn't appear to be on, so we kept our coats on, the metal furniture on deck did not help. ordered food at about 8:15pm. 2 buffalo meat burgers (full moon), 1 side of fries. finally got our food a few minutes after 9pm. wasn't very hot, however burgers and waffle fries tasted good. cheese wasn't melted on burgers. we asked server about food and she wasn't very sympathetic to our having to wait so long. could be a great great place, we may have just gotten a dud night.

Great service, beer selection isn't bad, and of course, the food is great. I had the wild boar tacos and venison pot stickers, both served with a delicious kimchi and spicy soy ginger sauce. My wife got wings (awesome) and a half moon burger, which is beef (the full moon is bison), and it was nice but a little overcooked (she asked for medium, but it was more medium-well). I wanted to try the wild game sampler, but 3 one-ounce portions for $17 seemed too steep. The peach cobbler cheesecake was not bad, but not very cobblery, either. Overall, a nice anniversary date for us!

Great beer, great food - the selection of unique and unexpected wild game on the menu is always a welcome change of pace. I'd give it 5 stars but from some reason - it always, always smells like a moldy dive bar when I walk in. Can't get past it sometimes.

From the moment we walked in the door the staff was unprofessional and extremely rude. Our table wasn't ready on time even though the restaurant was practically empty. The hostess didn't pay attention to anything we said. They didn't escort us to our table and simply pointed us in the direction of it, we had to find the way ourselves. Our waitress was rude, had an attitude, and was not polite at all. We went there to celebrate a special occasion and it was completely ruined by the awful experience we had here. We ended up leaving and went to La Verona instead. I suggest you go there instead of Half Moon because they have amazing people working there and great food. All in all our experience with Half Moon was awful.

Overall: Not recommended. During our single visit to the Half Moon in December of 2013, the wild game menu was unique for the area. The establishment is well located with wonderful rooftop seating. The food was nothing to rave about while service was subpar. Hope this was the atypical experience for most.

It was a great experience. Ordered the wild game sampler, which came with elk, wild boar sausage, and kangaroo., and a bowl of gator gumbo. All of it was great. Also tried their home made potato chips and waffle fries. Awesome.

My first visit to This little town - stopped in for a glass of wine. Wasn't too busy - Front staff greeted nicely. My experience at bar was lack luster on customer service, no greeting, no follow up and food took so long we couldn't wait. Seemed like they have a lovely place but could use some staff changes. Wouldn't recommend.
