Their home cooked turkey is fantastic. Excellent sandwiches. Desserts are pretty good to. The sides could be better. The staff is super friendly. Very homey.
A friend invited me here for lunch. It's a very modest and quaint place that I hadn't noticed despite working a couple of streets over for 3 years. I'm glad we came. I ordered a turkey sandwich. Unlike 90%+ of sandwich shops, turkey at Gracie's doesn't consist of cold cuts. Instead, it's fresh, carved turkey that is really tender and moist. I went with a full sandwich on sourdough. It was a beast, a delicious beast in that the sandwich was huge and the turkey portions were very generous as well! The size of the sandwich in combination of the tryptophan spike in my at system had me ready for bed - at work, in the middle of the afternoon...on a TUESDAY! I'll definitely opt for a half sandwich next time. Separately, the staff (proprietor?) was really friendly. We ordered our sandwiches and were ready to pay up front but she insisted that we relax and take a seat and worry about payment afterwards since we were dining in. When the time came to pay, and there was a line, she made sure to let us pay quickly and be on our way. These are some small things that say a lot about customer service here. Thank you!
If you are looking for the best turkey sammie, look no further than this joint. Been dropping by for years and still the best warm turkey breast sandwich carved straight from the bird...
Gracie is awesome! She makes great food and is so happy to see everyone that comes to visit her. Get a turkey sandwich from her, you will love it.
