This restaurant is one of the best in Bay Area and is a hidden gem! It’s a must try. If you go there one time, you’ll be there everyday 😋

I've been coming to Gourmet Express for years and it's still as good as is ever been. Sahar, the owner is such a nice lady as well. The chicken shawarma is different from most places since it's shredded and not diced and I prefer it this way. The homemade hot sauce is so good, pretty spicy too but I feel that it's one of the best attribute of the restaurant.

The owner is incredibly warm and friendly. The food is amazing. Authentic Mediterranean, reasonably priced and portions are perfect for what you pay. Vegan options, this is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Milpitas.

I dropped into this unassuming place for lunch and was blown away by how good the food was. It is not fancy inside but the hostess was very nice to talk to and the food was just amazing. I had a spinach and chicken dish with a cucumber salad and rice. There is a broad variety of side dishes that you can choose. I was able to eat zero waste as they have reusable plates and cutlery and I brought my own water bottle.

You can't find a sweeter restaurant owner around! I have LOVED this restaurant from the minute I walked in. She really makes you feel at home and her food is DELICIOUS! It's made from scratch and with so much love. I come here at least three times a week for lunch. AMAZING!

First, the lady who runs this place is an absolute gem. She greets you the second you come in and asks if you've been here before. If you haven't, she explains how the plates work and how many sides you can choose, etc. I got the daily special (chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil with pasta) with 4 small sides (hummus, dolmas, and two types of fruit). They also brought you some pita bread to eat with your meal. EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS. You can tell that the food is made with love. The prices were pretty reasonable, too. It's in a bit of a hidden place in the Sobrata lot, but plenty of places to park and the inside is very colorful and bright. Overall, a pleasant and wonderful experience. I will be back!

I used to go here for lunch every week, but that was years ago (I moved out of the the area for a while). I finally made it back, and not much has changed. As a meat eater (years ago), I used to love the chicken shawarma - so garlicky! As a vegetarian, I get the falafel platter, which is also quite good. I usually get hummus and tabouli as sides, though the other sides are also good.

Was back again today, aiming for 100% visits per trip to NorCal :) Great Middle Eastern food (why the Google Maps description says "Chinese" IDK). The tabouli is my favorite of a great selection of sides. I tend to go for the daily special combination plate for lunch. I've yet to have a meal that wasn't excellent. Like home cooking served in someone's home with guest tables set up for a large family gathering. I'm craving more already.
