I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Gold Hill Inn, a hidden gem tucked up the canyon that offers a unique and nostalgic experience. The drive up is quite an adventure, winding through picturesque scenery, making you feel like you've been transported back in time. The main reason for my visit was to catch some live music, and I must say, it was nothing short of fantastic. The remote location and intimate setting of the Gold Hill Inn created an atmosphere that was truly magical. Being surrounded by nature while enjoying live music was a memorable experience. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the diversity of the bar menu. Alongside the typical Colorado mix of beverages, they also had a variety of non-alcoholic options. It's a thoughtful touch that ensures everyone can enjoy a refreshing drink while taking in the music. The dance floor added an extra layer of fun to the evening. It's not often you get the chance to get up close and dance to live music in such an intimate setting. The $15 cover charge felt like a steal for the quality of entertainment and overall experience. In summary, the Gold Hill Inn offers a unique journey up the canyon to a remote and picturesque setting that feels like a blast from the past. The live music is fantastic, the bar menu is diverse, and the opportunity to dance and get up close to the performers makes it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a memorable night out.

We had the six course dinner which is very inexpensive for what you get. Their fresh warm bread before dinner is just divine. And if it's a beautiful rustic old place. The drive has beautiful views of the front range and then down into Boulder. No background music in the restaurant so you can actually hear each other talk!

I work at the inn. It’s been one of the best jobs I have ever had. We strive to make everyone’s experience a good one. That being said, if there is something that you don’t approve of or dislike in our customer service or food, please let us know ASAP in person or through an email. Writing a bad review on Google or yelp is not really going to change how we do our business. If you talk to us face to face we will be very receptive and respectful to your concerns. An email describing your sub par experience is more helpful than giving little to no stars on this review platform. I promise, we really care about your experience and hope to make it a better one if you let us know. Just call us, email, or stop by and we can talk.

The Gold Hill Inn is a wonderful musical experience if you’re seeing high energy bluegrass in the Inn. There are issues though. The food is truly not great. It’s under seasoned and often either over or under cooked. The “hostess” is more of a bouncer, and if she hasn’t known you since you were a toddler, she’ll treat you like you’re an issue. I love the biergarten, but it’s a bummer that music in the Inn kind of takes a backseat to that, because the atmosphere is so much better in the Inn. I feel like a lot of issues are overlooked because it’s such a unique experience. Become a regular, and you start seeing what’s a bummer

The only reason this place gets even two stars is because the atmosphere is great and people are nice, but the food was downright *awful*. It's set up to be all fancy but the chef or whomever picked the recipes need to be replaced immediately. The food was actually disgusting, completely weird and awful flavor combinations. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Food was amazing, we had an early dinner seating. Only caught a bit of the band in the front room. Whole ambience of Gold Hill is nostalgic Americana and this restaurant is part of that. Wine selection was also decent.

The place itself is neat. But the food was severely lacking. I had the salmon which was too rare, almost raw (might have been raw) and had tons of bones in it. I swallowed a few bones and then had to chew a million times to make sure I pulled any others out - my two friends had the trout which was also littered with bones. I didn't feel comfortable eating the rest of my meal. Portions are also small which would be fine if the food was higher quality. You get one baby potato with your protein which is just odd. The cheese and fruit option was just 3 crackers, a few grapes and a few pieces of cheese. Overall not worth the drive. Very disappointing meal.

I live in the area and have been coming here for several years, and have mostly had great, memorable experiences. The food and atmosphere are excellent. The current bartender, however, is consistently unpleasant and unprofessional. He has treated my partner, my elderly mother, and other guests horribly on several occasions. It's sad, but I don't think we'll be giving this place any more business.
