We moved from China a few months ago, and were excited to find out that there was a Xi'an style restaurant nearby. I'm from Mass, my wife is from Hunan, and we lived in Guangdong, down in the South, but our favorite noodles were from Xi'an and Lanzhou (probably a tall order, but if anyone knows of a Lanzhou lamian place in the greater Boston area, *please* lmk). Gene's Chinese Flatbread Cafe's noodles are spot on, pretty much exactly as we had in Xi'an a few weeks before we moved back. I especially loved the cold noodles, but honestly they were all great. I 100% recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic but still accessible, regional Chinese cuisine, or who is homesick and wants some familiar tastes. Prices are good, service is prompt and friendly, and most importantly, the food is great!

Life is short F… it up! Family, Flavor, Friends First time here, decided to get the recommended -Lamb hand pulled noodle soup. The place is a smart noodle shop mainly take out. Each order they hand stretch and “ bang, bang” the noodle per order. The soup came out piping hot. Great aroma. The 1st sip very flavorful w a touch of spice providing the right kind of bite. This broth has the taste of comfort and soothing to the soul. The noodles we thick, chewy and great texture. The soup and noodle I give 5stars. The portions could have been larger which is why I took off 1 ⭐️. If your looking for a authentic hand made to order noodle w great broth this is it. @life_is_short888x on instagram

Ordered for the first time yesterday on doordash. Wow 😍👌🏼 I got the extra spicey. My nose was running from the heat which is what i totally wanted! The flavor was incredible and ratio of noodles to meat to veggies to broth was perfect. I loved how thick the noodles were and those were super tasty too! I wish they were open every day because it's a solid 10/10 Defintely reccomend

This place is cash only! Drinks are about $2, bottled water or Pepsi products only (some bottled tea too?). Absolutely amazing food. They make the noodles to order. Too little of a crowd for such a good place on the weekends. Very crowded standing room only weekdays for lunch. Order lamb skewers, they complete the meal. The hot and sour pulled noodle is very salty but it works (the meat is over salted). The cumin lamb is perfect. I've had everything on the menu and there isn't a dish I don't like. Beware the plain pulled noodle dish is loaded with garlic. So delicious but makes for awkward kisses later.

Gene’s is legendary! The lamb hand pulled noodles is one of my favorite Chinese meals in Massachusetts. The spices are warm and there is just enough heat. Everything on the menu is fresh and perfectly prepared. The soups are something special. This is not a “general whoever’s chicken” place, it’s authentic food from Xi’an. The owner is friendly and very eager to help folks navigate the menus. It’s worth a drive if you are looking for something different. I’m be note on my photo: I like to order a couple of lamb skewers to dump on top of the dish, it does not come like that.

It’s fascinating that there’s an authentic pulled noodle eatery in Westford, MA. But boy am I happy that it’s here. While I loved the pulled noodles I had in NY (Xian’s famous foods), this place is pretty good in comparison! I love that they pull the noodles right in front of you. The portions are big, so definitely share with a friend. The noodles are al dente, the broth is fatty and unctuous. For the dumplings, the skin was a bit thick but the pork tasted great!

I miss this place so much! When we were still in Westford, we went there at least three times a month. The hand pulled noodles is so authentic, love the lamb skewers too.

Been going there for years- first time at the Westford location and the taste, quality, & price are still excellent. Had the house noodles.
