It was our first time to eat at this charming cafe located at a corner of a residential area overlooking the water with the view of small private boats that leads to Balboa Island. We were looking for a place that was open for an early breakfast and sure enough we were lucky to have discovered this gem. Mostly local patrons eat here but the food is amazing. Surely a must try for anybody in Newport Beach area looking for a great early breakfast experience.

Saturday Breakfast at the Galley Cafe Newport Beach. Classic Neighborhood Corner Coffee Shop/Diner in every sense. This little diner happens to sit on the Marina though. If you like your classic diner food and a good cup of coffee shop coffee while rubbing elbows and having morning conversations with your local friendly neighbors, then this quaint little spoon will hit the spot for you. I had eggs Benedict with hash browns and coffee. Service is fast and friendly. Experience is wonderfully nostalgic. Pictures and paintings of the building and incarnations of the cafe over the years plus pictures and paintings of past local Newport/Balboa celebrity and Hollywood Western Folk Hero John Wayne adorn the wall behind the coffee counter.

I’ve lived in OC for 22 years, barely heard about this place about 3 months ago. Came here with my great friend who told me about it and it was a blast. Felt like a time capsule. I had a chocolate malt that was mind blowing and a cheeseburger with fries. Very nostalgic, crazy low prices, and friendly service. I’m going back.

What an amazing Newport Beach little little gem! 💎 It only seats like 30 people! Great little 50's diner! John Wayne used to eat here all the time! If I could give them more that 5 stars I would! Best chili cheese omelet ever! The food is so amazing here. There is literally nothing bad on the menu. And the service and entire staff are so nice! Go! Eat! Enjoy! You won't regret it! Tell em Jerry sent you! ☆Update☆ 03/09/23... I LOVE this place! The servers are SO nice! And the cooks are AMAZING! I had the egg and bacon breakfast sandwich today with their amazing chili poured over the top! Then I had them deep fry the hashbrowns like French fries in the fryer! O-M-G! SO, SO, SO GOOD! And my daughter had the tuna sandwich and loved it! It was packed with tuna! Great portion!

Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was helpful and very friendly as we arrived late. Made us right at home and gave great suggestions. Chili and loaded fries were delicious. French toast sandwich was fantastic. This is really a must visit.

Went here with my dad on our last full day in California. Absolutely delicious! The view of the boat lot was beautiful and the food was incredible. We both got meat and cheese omelettes which did not skimp on either the meat or the cheese. Staff was super nice and welcoming as well. Overall, very cute little place with a stunning view and great food!

This place is a hidden neighborhood gem. It’s a small diner type spot right near the water, at the end of a residential area. Prices are fair, the food is good, and the people are so friendly. They really treat people like family.

Super friendly place that brings you back through time with a smiling staff and big portions of delicious cafe foods. We are here after a guided hike and yoga class on the beach. It was exactly the breakfast/brunch I was hoping for. Parking in the neighborhood was ample. The cafe is small and there was a wait, but it didn't take too long on a Saturday.
