Went for dinner mid-week. Overall, food was delicious, well presented, and seemed very high quality. I really enjoyed the flavors they were able to present with each dish and think they did a great job standing out from other restaurants. I would have liked slightly larger portions for the price, but that's just a nitpick. Overall I'd go again and recommend it.

Lovely spot in Palo Alto, went for date night then made reservations right there + then for my parents birthdays 2 days later🤣... not your typical Indian restaurant. Definitely make reservations, a manager Tiffany lined us up proper. My drink was very tasty, I got SWEET HEAT with agave (smooth + spicy). For apps we loved the Chutney sampler (kale + eggplant), Monkey Bread was also tasty. SMOKED TOMATO SOUP was excellent, Copra Beef was a good choice, couldn't go wrong with the BUTTER CHICKEN, split the Pea/lentil dumpling soup- really good decision... the BLACK PEPPER CAULIFLOWER had such a nice texture. Then came dessert: complimentary sorbets for the birthdays, the EARLY CITRUS was my favorite- SO good (with avocado Ice Cream and perhaps an almond toffee), Chocolate Oblong was all that + Strawberry Saffron Slice was very good... and we RARELY do dessert! On the pricey end, very much worth it. I'll be back to try more of the menu!

The sesame leaf small plate is one of the most wonderful things I've experienced in a long time! The flavors and textures are so incredible. It's hard to explain. A definite must-try. Also get the octopus and the butter chicken, yum!

What a cool vibe and experience! Let the interior decor hit you with a strong first impression. Order up one of their distinctive cocktails to continue the mood. Ask the wait staff for recommendations and pick a few dishes and get carried away with the full Ettan experience! The sesame leaf was the real standout for us, but all the dishes were unique and thoughtfully crafted. We've started this place on Google maps to return very soon!

Beautiful restaurant! The food was delicious! We had soft shell fish, fried chicken, naan, butter chicken, and octopus. Good selection of drinks. We enjoyed the outside dining. This place is hidden and is just waiting for you to discover it!

First the great things about the place: the staff, and the plating of the food. They are all impeccable. The ambience is nice too, we got an outdoor seating and the decor outside is pretty well done. Now for the so-so part: the food. We ordered the burrata kulcha and the octopus. Delight visually, but we thought the taste to be a bit lacking. Both packed a lot of heat and much of nothing else. We got the sea bass for the main and I thought the taste was too mellow. The accompanying coconut rice was excellent though. Overall, I think the place has a lot of great potential if they can up their game in terms of how the food tastes.

Quality food with great ambience! The coconut rice was so good it reminded of mom made rice from childhood. The eggplant chutney was so tasty! Loved the Ettan salad and sesame leaf chat. In desert liked the tender coconut cream, the dark chocolate oblong was the favorite for chocolate lovers. Need to reserve weeks ahead but worth the wait. Lunch and dinner menu are different, so if you are looking for a a specific dish make sure they have it on their menu at that time. We could not find the tender coconut desert we were looking for during lunch time.

This was my third time at Ettan and the food was average. The mocktail lacked depth and was too bitter. The atmosphere is nice and the service is upscale. The sesame leaf appetizer is a must!
