Service was amazing. Melvin is the ultimate hostess. Food was phenomenal. Definitely saving this place in my list of must eats. We had the stuffed chicken, the lobster paella 🥘 and the octopus 🐙 Also Sangria was delicious. The flan is very good. Not overly sweet and fresh they make it in house.
Holy cow this place is fantastic! And I’m a harsh critic. Wonderully decorated. Huge menu. Flavorful home-made food, authentic Mexican, but plenty of choices for people who aren’t into Mexican food. Easygoing, friendly and attentive service. Alcohol. We went for breakfast. And. They make their own fresh squeezed orange juice! Served in a big glass. Delicious! I asked if they have fried ice cream. It wasn’t on the menu, but they made it for me anyway. Plus, it was served on fire! We’re not local, but I plan to come here again whenever I’m at all in the area. There are so many other things on the menu I want to try!
It’s not fair to only give 5 stars….this is the ONLY PLACE IN ROCKLAND that should have a 60 min wait. You will not eat anywhere with this quality/price/service other than getting in a plane and flying internationally. From FRESH Sangria made daily (red and white) to only the FRESHEST fish/meat / veggies.. this restaurant is 10 stars.. the pictures will prove it -just wait….. I’m ashamed to say that I never went for lunch/dinner until tonight. I went for breakfast for over 10 years.. shame on me! We already plan on going back tomorrow evening. Tonight we had: -Black bean soup (Dios mio!) -Little Neck Clams in a green sauce (WHAT?? Did I die and go to heaven?? My husband wanted the sauce to take home and put on EVERYTHING!!) -Filleted Branzini (no words) - THE ULTIMATE DISH… oooooo… mmmmmm…. Ggggggg… are you ready? Seriously- sit down.. b/c I had to sit before writing this next part.. Oh my goodness.. ok .. here it is.. THE BEST CRISPY DUCK I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I’ll be 50.. I qualify for that statement. Please go - immediately to this restaurant- not just to support these ARTISTS of the kitchen- but for your own health and tastebuds. Do WHATEVER Melvin says. Order whatever he suggests… in Melvin’s words: “GET IT OR YOU’LL REGRET IT”. Melvin is the Wizard of Oz at Estrellas. He met us with a SMILE, and an open table. We are about an hour away and it’s worth the drive every single time…the staff is super friendly, and the food is beyond 5 stars…we started going there for breakfast, and always wanted to try items on the lunch/dinner menu…so we went yesterday and WOW!..we started off with jalapeño margaritas (1 pitcher) which wasn’t on the menu, but when we asked he said “absolutely I can make it”, and it was the best we’ve ever had…the grilled octopus w/spinach was to die for, cooked to perfection and the flavors just hit every section of your palette…the skirt steak w/chimichurri was on point and the flavors popped with every bite…the Enchiladas Swissas were a taste of Mexican heaven…the chicken n’ rice soup had such amazing flavor and authentic as it gets…we are not strangers to different types of food as we travel we get to taste the difference and Estrellas Café is appropriately named because they are full of stars (Estrellas)…can’t wait to go back, we love supporting small businesses especially when they check off every box when it comes to the “food/restaurant industry”…sabores tradicionales que son superiores a que uno imaginaba, bien echó Estrellas…eres un encanto…🤩 🌮🥟🌯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️👍🧡
Hands down, the absolute best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in all of Rockland County! I've tried Sangrias, Playa Cancun, and many other places, and none of them comes close to Estrella. This is a must try if you want real Mexican cuisine. They also have amazing breakfast and their banana foster French toast is delicious!
I would always order from this restaurant on Ubereats, they’ve never failed to bring hot & delicious food with it being delivered ! Recently my partner & I ate at the restaurant and it was amazing. The food was out fast, it was delicious, and our waiter provided excellent service. Definitely would recommend coming here!
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious. The only issue is the amount of time it takes for the food to come out. We had to wait 40 minutes for the first order to come out, and the next dish came out 10 minutes later and the last dish came out 5 minutes after that. The first person was half way through eating when the second dish arrived. There were only 3 taken tables at the place. Unfortunately, we won't be back, it took way too long.
