Breakfast Menu "El Famous Burrito" Waukegan

My only issue is this is a cash only establishment. I've passed by this area for years to and from northwest Indiana and it never appeared on my food radar until yesterday since I was at a pub minutes away for the Bear Game. This steak burrito is a serious over a lb. Don't let the pics fool you. I am not big on flour tortillas, but you can't get tortillas this big. This flour tortillas was lightly grilled so it's a sturdy for support. So worth every peso I paid for it.

Hungry for Mexican? This place does not play. You order, They are ON it. Food is ready super fast. Their nachos are also very unique as cut tortilla loaded with the toppings on each piece.

The food is very good,we enjoyed our dinner tonight we had the steak burrito,taco dinner,tortadinner all come with rice and beans.We ordered guacamole but it did not come with chips when we asked for chips they charged us a additional $2.75 another note this restaurant is cash only. Great place to come and enjoy authentic Mexican Food!!!

El Famous is what most others are measured by. Its simple, good food at a great price. Nothing fancy. Just good Mexican food. It is a CASH ONLY place. They do have an ATM available inside as well. They do have a drive thru as well. I would recommend calling in your order first when using the drive thru. I've been going here since '94. And its the best to me. Give it a try for yourself. Bring cash. And enjoy!!

My best friend and I were in Gurnee for a trip for a while, on the last day when we were heading back home I asked to stop at this place so we can get some tacos and I wanted to get a burrito. I got a ground beef burrito, and he ordered three chicken tacos, when we pulled out the drive-thru we're going down to the Family Dollar down the street to get drinks. I checked our food realized that he got steak tacos instead of chicken. We went back and told them that they got his order wrong, and they had no problem fixing it and giving him the actual chicken tacos and apologized, so that was a good part. However, I got there 2/3 of the way down and almost finished when I took a bite and realized there was something hard, when I took it out of my mouth I realized it was like a stick or something I ended up throwing away the rest of my burrito because I was afraid there was something else in it that I shouldn't eat. The food was good butnot really somewhere I'd come back to.

First time here. Great tasting food! Super clean place and good service! Awesome prices on all food! ENJOY!
