Enjoyed the Food! We stopped by this restaurant for a bite to eat on Sunday afternoon dropping off a family member at college. We arrived around 12:30/45 & we’re hungry. It wasn’t too busy. I enjoyed the mimosas & the meal; especially the steak fries. All of us enjoyed our meal. The waitress was very friendly & attentive. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Me and my Wife stopped here for Saturday breakfast. Place have little parking lot behind and room for few cars in the front, where U can park on the side of the road. We were greeted by staff with nice smile and good spirit. We got both lunch and breakfast menu due to time we came. Choice was decent. My Wife ordered Philly Steak Omelet, I had also same one and another custom one made from different meats. And we both had bacon on the side. Philly Steak omelets came very plain in taste. Tasted like eggs and steak without any sort of seasoning. After adding some salt and pepper was Ok. The omelet made from different meats came good. I really like it. Staff was very nice and caring.

Cravings for a good breakfast were definitely satisfied! This place is fantastic...cozy outdoor seating on a beautiful day! The service and food were wonderful!!! Had the Big John to satisfy the beast lol...

The trendy Effie's Place is very good, however, not worthy of the accolades I have heard. Yes, good location. Yes, friendly and helpful staff. Yes, very good homemade corned beef hash (Although, not $7.75 very good). The hash browns were terrible, just mushy potatoes, no seasoning, no onions, just a mushy potatoe, why bother? One of 2 of the eggs i ordered over easy was over medium. I had high expectations for this restaurant and they were not met. Effie's Place is still very good and worth a try.

Atmosphere was inviting, dining room was clean, and staff was polite and attentive. However, customers should be advised in advance if substitutions are going to result in upcharges. Breakfast for 2 $42.94 1. Special Mexican Scamble $14, no toast. 1 Big Breakfast; 2 slices of French toast or pancakes, 2 slices of bacon and sausage, 2 eggs, and homefries. Asked for Challah bread for the French toast and turkey bacon and sausage $2.50 upcharge for each. Which was listed on the menu or explain to us by our waitress. Daughter requested apple juice, waitress didn't ask which size just brought a glass that was probably 8 ounces. Turns out it was a large $4.75.

I ordered whole wheat pancakes. They were tasteless. The waitress, after chastising me that a lady in an adjacent booth “LOVED hers”, whisked them away and removed them from my check. No harm, no foul..good service. Then I’m looking forward to eating my omelette stuffed with corn beef hash. I take one bite and taste rancid cooking grease. My co-diner tasted it and agreed with me that it had been setting all morning. We were eating @ 12:45. Been here many times. Bad cook that day???

Nice lil spot for a cozy breakfast. Grits were not to my satisfaction.

Was pricey for the quality of food. I heard a lot of great things about the homemade hash but I can say with some certainty that it's better canned. They're having an unfortunate adjustment period where the prices you're paying aren't matching menu prices too. Service was pretty slow. There's a few diners in the same zip code that are selling the same or better quality food for about 10-40% cheaper.
