Went here for dinner one night, and oh my goodness it was so good. I had the strip steak which was cooked absolutely perfect, it had so much flavor. It was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had . It was accompanied with a fantastic baked potato. The restaurant itself was really cool, it felt like I went back in time. Also, service was excellent and attentive. 100% recommend

Worth the wait! We had to wait about an hour and a half, but it was absolutely worth it. We were in the Tavern and the atmosphere was amazing, candlelit with awesome decor. The food was amazing, the French onion soup, the roasted chicken, the steak, all perfect. The service was also very good. We will definitely be back someday and I recommend this place to anyone visiting Gettysburg!

Our first experience at the Dobbin House. Very impressed! Our meals were delicious, crab Imperial and the Roasted Duck. From the Apple Mimosas to dinner was absolutely fabulous. Our waitress was just the sweetest and I wish I remembered her name. She wore glasses and we ate on the top floor today 9/17/2023. She was fantastic. We will be back again. Can not believe it took us this long to eat there. We may make this a tradition for our yearly Anniversary.

Being big into history, this is an ideal place to go when wanting to step into history itself! We didn't stay here at the overnight rooms...just came for lunch at the Springhouse Tavern downstairs in the basement. It was an incredible experience! Staff was friendly and accommodating! Staff dress up in clothing from that time to add to the experience. I absolutely loved that the entire place was mostly lit by candlelight! The glasses and everything about this place was exactly like stepping into history!! The food is good, but be warned...it's pricey. Well worth the experience with an in depth history attached to the place as well!

One of my favorite places to eat when traveling to Gettysburg. It’s always a non-negotiable to eat here. Eat downstairs in the cellar area for a more intimate experience of dining by candlelight. The atmosphere is beautiful. Wait staff is dressed in period clothing. Full bar down in the cellar. Food is more on the pricey side, but well worth it! There’s also a gift shop worth exploring with a bunch of handmade items.

We came to Gettysburg and wanted to eat in a dated tavern. Upon speaking with the host, the Fine Dining would be the oldest part of the facilities which was built in the 1700’s. That part of the business housed the Underground Railroad. The Fine Dining did not open until 5 PM. It was 2:30 PM and we were hungry! We ate in the tavern which was supposedly built in the 1980’s. The tavern was located in the basement. For those with mobility issues, this will not work for you as there was no elevator. We waited about 45 minutes to an hour. The wait was well worth it. We both had the steak sandwich. It was very delicious. Our waitress kept our glasses full and was very attentive. I would love to go back again. This was highly recommended by our hotel front desk clerk. They get 5 Stars. We had a fantastic experience.

I don't know anything about the lodging just the restaurant. You'll need a reservation for dinner at the Dobbin House. Like history and excellent food? This is the best place to experience both! Not going to say anything more. You'll have to go check it out for yourself. It's good!! $$ No reservation needed for lunch but I would call just to confirm the wait time. Ken

If you happen to be in the Gettysburg area and you're looking for a good meal with a tasty beverage while taking a break from visiting the various historical locations, look no further. This spot has good food and good drink, and a taste of history. This location is the Revolutionary War era, so it pre-dates the war in Gettysburg. Owned and operated by the same family line, this spot offers good service along with your meal and beverage of choice. There is a full bar here, and the location offers original cocktails and a good variety of cold beers. Food wise, a majority of the items, sauces, pastries, and such are made in-house. The items on the menu are tasty! When u get to the desert, try the apple pie!!! After you have completed your meal, check out the rest of the building, as it is a museum, with offers a glimpse into the history of the building. Definitely check this spot out and lose yourself amongst its good people, good food and beverage, and rich history!
