Love this big Amish restaurant, buffet, bakery, coffee, and gift shop. It's got clean restrooms, and the food here is always very good. There are so many people that come here that the buffet is constantly being refreshed. Prices in May 2023 - $17.49 for lunch buffet and $18.49 for dinner buffet. You can also order just the salad buffet, or off the menu as well. What you need to know... You need to ask for complimentary rolls (which come with buffet and meals,) as well as cranberry sauce and soft serve ice cream, which also comes with the buffet. Stop at the bakery on your way out for fresh pies and baked goods, fudge, and coffees. They sell jars of their apple butter and a whole bunch of jams, pickles, etc. It's a fantastic Amish place that we enjoy every time we pass through town.

This Restaurant- Gift Shop has a long buffet on the first. There are many traditional food choices. You can also just grab and go. The second floor has many choices of gift idea's to choose from. They even had soft pajamas for adults to wear. The parking is free and l saw all ages having fun. I will go again

I visited Der Dutchman on my final day of my vacation recently. I wish I would have found it earlier in the trip because I would have gone every day. It is hard to put adequate words to how well done this restaurant/gift shop/ bakery/ venue hall. It is a massive operation but you don't feel like that when you enter. You are made to feel welcome and part of the family. The breakfast buffet was $16.95 and was an excellent value. Everything was fresh and delicious. The cold food was cold, the hot food was hot. The staff is attentive and friendly. I plan on staying at their hotel on the same property as The Carlisle Inn during my next trip to Sarasota. Highly recommend this business 💖

Really wonderful family sit down w buffet option. Wait service is on top of everything and we came when there was a long line. Seated within 10 minutes. Highly recommended when visiting Sarasota. Don't miss the gift store upstairs or the jams and jellies for sale in the bakery.

I have heard about this restaurant for years and we were finally able to try it for a late lunch. It was fantastic! The dining area is very spacious and decorated in a home style traditional way. The server was very nice and advised us on which dishes to order. I had Turkey and my husband had chicken plate. Both were excellent and the portions were huge. The food came right out and it was delicious. The buffet is very large and the prices reasonable. The restaurant is known for it bakery and the peach pie was wonderful. Even the iced tea was tasty. Afterward we browsed the gift shop for presents for the grandkids. It was a delightful experience and we highly recommend this all American great dining experience.

This was my second visit. Ordered off the menu this time, much better than the buffet I had the first time. We had the blueberry pancakes, and the Dutch Scramble. Both were amazing, and the service is always impeccable!

Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you and everyone in your group will find something on the menu they like. Food is made from scratch and is always fresh and filling. Be sure to allow room for dessert as there is an excellent selection of pies, cakes and other things to satisfy your sweet tooth. They also have a gift shop which includes packaged food such as jams and jellies you can take home.

I'm used to Amish Country in Bird-in-Hand area. I usually go once a year. This restaurant is on par with what you would find there. Though this is a small Amish Community, compared to Lancaster, PA, it was nice to see a different community. The restaurant was large as well as the gift shop. The Bakery was nice, too. Service was fine, but our server didn't seem very attentive, probably because of how busy the restaurant was, but overall, nothing negative to say. I ordered from the menu instead of the buffet. My open faced sandwich was hearty and quite a big serving. If you enjoy country style food, it's worth a trip to dine there.
