Breakfast Menu "Dalem's Chalet" Brattleboro

Shame on people for slamming this place so hard. It’s not ultra-modern or high tech, but it was warm, clean, and comfortable. My husband and I wanted a getaway for the weekend and decided to find a place once we got where we were going. After trying several more modern places that were booked solid, we ended up at Dalem’s. We loved the look of it, so we decided to stay. We booked a suite and loved the hand-painted furniture, the cozy warmth of the log-beamed ceiling, and the soft bed. The WiFi worked fine, and the room had no drafts. The hot water was hot and everything worked. The only things I found were a few cobwebs in the windows, and I could not get the shower to work. That might be on me, though. The bath sufficed for cleaning. Would we stay here again? Yes. It was utterly charming, quiet, and has history. Not too many places can say that nowadays.

The room smelled so bad of smoke when we checked in.. because it was so late when we checked in I decided not to bother calling as we had been traveling and were tired. I told the woman at check out the following morning and she just said sorry. The room didn't feel clean. It wasnt super dirty but just not clean. After getting home I realized I left a small blanket in the room. I've called and emailed every day asking if they've found it. On the phone she tells me the cleaning person is coming the following day and it may be in storage. She said she'd call me. I'm still waiting on a call. I've also emailed her 2x with no response. It was the cheapest price in town for a last minute stay. You get what you pay for I suppose.

While this place maybe a bit dated as other reviewers have mentioned, it really is a unique place to stay. The view is spectacular and the prices are very reasonable for the area. If the dining room is open be sure to take advantage of it. The German cuisine is splendid and the atmosphere is quite unique. If you can only catch breakfast the french toast is a must try with real maple syrup.

The hotel would be really nice if it was kept up. The owner is old, so she has trouble making sure everything is in working order. Room was fine, but the swimming pool and workout gym are totally shut down. She also has the dining hall set up, but it isnt open, probably bevause its not ski season. I had a good experience while there, but she need to get some help running the place, it's a little too much for her.

Dalem's has old-world charm and is perfectly located just outside of downtown Brattleboro--my room was spacious and comfortable. I booked a one-night stay but had an allergic reaction during that time and had to go back home. The owner was beyond wonderful about giving me a refund and was most concerned that I was a happy customer.

We just expected better for $118. Everything in the room is older than me I think. I’m 47. I wouldn’t have written a review, but they snuck in a “resort fee”. Granted it was only $8.50, but there are literally no amenities here to enjoy. No cable. Very poor WiFi. They don’t even have an ice machine. It was the only room in the area available for the night. I can see why 😂

This place looks nothing like the pictures they've posted. We upgraded from the first room. We were told we were getting 2 double beds. We got 1 full and 1 terrible twin. Second room, while needing upgrading, is a bit more charming. The outside needs cleaned up DESPERATELY

Stayer beware. Admitting we had booked our room in a hurry, we depended on the available photos of the Chalet and Pool. These were mis-representative of the Chalet. Our room was clean, however the outdated accommodations included a sort of 'forgotten' inner fitness area that was connected to our room. The Chalet advertises an available Pool and Restaurant, neither are useable. Our kids were very disappointed in the stay. Read ALL available reviews before considering a stay here.
