Excellent food and fries. We usually order either the turkey burger, boca burger, hamburger, hot dogs or fries. My wife, kids, grandkids and I all love the food. We prefer to eat at Cookers over all the other choices in the area. Food is consistently very good. Prices are excellent, as the meals include free fries. Well done!!!
Cookers improves the traditional Chicago dog in 2 ways. First, the dog is lightly charred adding a delicious taste. Second, the dog is scored in a circular fashion which allows the dog to evenly cook all the way through further enhancing the flavor since the condiments don't just sit on top. They use Vienna kosher style beef red hots in poppy seed buns just like they did in the 1950's.
You will not find a better Chicago style hotdog. Their dogs are sweet and savory and they follow the golden rule, "No Ketchup!" (unless you ask), but they don't need ketchup, they have the right sweetness. They have other classics like beef, sausage, etc., and the atmosphere is always busy like a traditional Chicago hotdog joint.
Cooker's has the best Char dogs around. The service is friendly and quick. Its a great place to take the family. Give them a try!
Well so far the cost for 3 is priced high. Polish was good but bread could have been toasted, fries could be alittle more greasier and less burnt Service was fast, tables could be cleaned off
Great hotdog place! Their fries are the best in the area. I typically go chilli cheese dog and fries and it's awesome every time.
Food is good. Well worth the lunch special if you like Chicago dogs. I'll take Cooker's over Superdawg any day.
We came from California visiting family and I must say this was one of the BEST places we ate while in IL food was absolutely delicious and staff was very friendly! I would definitely come back
