Perfect reason for exiting the beaten path. Plenty of parking but the inside was full up. We arrived in time to be first in line. Locals visited across booths and moved out quickly. We sat to enjoy a great meal of large portions made with love. Felt like visiting family rather than eating in a restaurant. Ordered chicken fried steak with okra- all of a belly of yum.

I’ve passed by 100’s of times On my way from Iowa to Texas and was able to stop today. Great food and service. Plan on using the rest room else where as their restrooms are out of order. Personally if I would have known that before ordering my meal I would have gone else where. Not sure what health code laws are in place in Oklahoma but this would never pass muster in other states. They must want customers dropping trousers and using the bathroom in their parking lot

Passing through on business and read reviews and decided to stop in for lunch. It was a worthy lunch! It was nice to visit a location that has the old fashion feel to it. For starters we chose the Onion Rings - a definite must try if you like them! I had to try the Chicken Fried Steak and it was worthy! My business partner tried the Bacon Cheeseburger - I almost wish I had his! Wait staff was friendly and we never had to wait on them!

The Good... The mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and Tater tots were great. They came from a bag and went into a fryer. Hard to screw that up. The average... Chicken fried chicken it was skinny and small, decent flavor but a little dry. The ribeye, it was unseasoned to the point of being bland. How do you have a bland steak? It was pretty, great grill marks, but over cooked and bland. The bad... color enhanced green beans from a can, and possibly the worst fried okra I have ever encountered. Slimy and the breading was...not cornmeal or flour. (Shiver) The service... Hmmmm the first time I have ever had a waitress refuse to suggest something good. I normally ask them to bring me what is good/best. But this gal refused... Not rude but awkward. Side note: this is a nostalgia place. Historical photos, cowboys, etc decorate the walls. But the overhead music is Katie Perry, Pink, and so on, it really doesn't fit the atmosphere or clientele. I was really disappointed overall. I know some people in this town love this place. But I sure don't understand why.

Customers (some famous) wide and far have journeyed to eat at this iconic Rt 66 Cafe. My wife ordered a tasty chicken fried steak sandwich with crispy onion rings. I ate the homestyle pot roast with brown gravy. Delish! The baked potato was rather small but that may be indicative of a supplier issue. My house salad was cold and crispy. My grandson ordered the catfish filet dinner. The filets were thick, crispy, and he left not a crumb on his plate. Samantha is a great server! My bill, including 3 ice teas @ $1.99 each $62.86 for four people.

Stopped in for some pie. Ended up getting a plate of fried pickles too. All were delicious. Will definitely be back when we are in town.

Called to place a to go order & everything that I wanted they didn't have. I ended up going up there to place my to go order. Their menu has changed drastically since COVID. I ordered the 10oz strip cooked Medium Rare with mashed potatoes and white gravy, corn and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I have added an updated picture of their menu so that hopefully nobody else will have the same issue I had.

Bottom line: I did not eat here. Wanted to, but... I read about this place and was excited to check it out. FDR apparently made a train stop close by. Walked in and the place reeks of burned food and old grease. As soon as I walked in, I was "welcomed" by the stone-faced gray haired clientele. Stood in the entryway for about five minutes, was not seated or even acknowledge. So I took the hint and left. I will not return.
