OK, I do not normally write reviews....HOWEVER, I do believe this place will make someone sick Just so everyone knows hot food SHOULD be held at 140 °F or warmer....not come off the buffet at some where near 80 °F . We even ordered off the menu and the chicken came out COLD! ALL of the chicken we picked out the buffet was in the "Danger Zone." (41º F -140º F just in-case you don't know.) Now, with that said let me tell you that this is my 3rd visit into this place. All 3 times we have been sold cold chicken. I did have enough this last time to go ahead and tell the owners about the poor food quality and about safe food handling. Bacteria multiplies quickly at temperatures between 40 and 140 the bacteria can double in about 15 minutes. They say that food poisoning can take 14 to 48hr to come on so many people mistake it for the flu. Food safety is a big deal to me, 76 million Americans get food born illness and 5,000 Americans die every year from food poisoning /food born illness. I hope I am not alone in not wanting to take my chances!
I ate here 5-6 years ago and it was GREAT! Fresh food, all around a great place. However two weeks ago by boyfriend and went in to eat lunch right at 11am expecting all the food to be fresh and HOT considering it was opening time and lunch time...... I never write reviews about restaurants but really think people need to be warned about this place. My boyfriend got his food first and then I went up to get our sons and mine, we were the only people in the place which should of been our first clue. The chicken was cold in the middle, all of it. My sons crab Rangoon was clumpy and cold, the fried zucchini was ice cold, everything! When who I am guessing was the owner came up and asked if the food was okay we explained to her how everything was cold and she got pretty defensive checking the temps on the buffet and saying they were set to the right temps I believe 180 is what she said.... The cook came out and asked if we would like him to cook us fresh chicken. We politely denied having taken only maybe 3 bites off of out plates. As we are leaving and stop at the register she said "we will only charge for one buffet" we told her we didn't feel like we should have to pay at all considering we didn't even eat and everything was cold, and she just stood there not saying anything. We paid the $7.99. This place is ridiculous and is going to make someone sick one day. It was as if they put cold (hopefully) pre cooked frozen food on the buffet to warm up! I am very disappointed and wish we didn't even give them $7.99 of our money!
