Great salad bar. Our fav part when we come. The bread always come hot and fresh too. Had a party of 7, got seated shortly after our reservation time. Only snagged a few quick pics, close up of the onions rings (amazing) and a shot of the loaded baked potato (so good) and the prime rib with mushrooms on the side. The creamy horseradish sauce is intense in flavor. We got rare but will prob go med-rare next time, little chewy but still so good. Has made excellent leftovers. You will not leave here hungry. Staple date night or stop by for just the salad bar. 💜

This is the best place to get a steak in Des Moines! My steak is always cooked perfectly and they have an amazing salad bar to go with it. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The decor is really neat, makes a great date night or place to hang out with friends.

The restaurant is nice inside. High tops are pretty well spaced in the front room. The booths go down a hallway with no exit and wrap around the salad bar. Very intimate setting. Maybe a little too close for comfort. Didn't really enjoy our neighbors arguing with each other and didn't want to inconvenience the server by moving to a different section. She was awesome! The salad bar had a lot of good options, but seemed like all the stuff had been sitting out for awhile. The prime rib was really good. My fish entrée was okay. The prices are pretty elevated for the area. Not sure I would come back for anything besides the prime rib.

It was great! Nice atmosphere for an established restaurant. Always have a steak and it's great as always. In the picture is their 12oz ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes.

We were looking for a restaurant that could accommodate us entertaining our young adult grandchildren and their dates. Chicago Speakeasy proved their experience rating. Reservations were made for eight a week before, and when I called, they offered their party room that accommodates larger parties and is a little quieter for visiting. Our waiter was busy but handled all of his tables easily. We ordered drinks and appetizers and had plenty of time to enjoy them before heading to their famous salad bar. Tonight was their PRIME RIB NIGHT, so everyone ordered what could be their famous trade mark. A nice cut of meat, very tender and enjoyed by all. Thanks, Chicago Speakeasy, for providing us with a good atmosphere, great food, and experience wait staff. We enjoyed our night out at Chicago Speakeasy and can look back on a special memory of our family dinner with the grandkids.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. The salad bar is amazing and the food is equally so. While waiting for a table on our last visit, we had a drink at the bar. After placing our order, the employee simply told us the price. She was not pleasant at all. Our drinks were made in a shaker and after pouring ours, she poured the remaining amount down the drain. We found this incredibly wasteful and rude.

Nothing fancy but had a good atmosphere. Salad bar was awesome. A little small, seemed like there may have been something going on in next room as we could hear someone on a microphone. Food was good and staff pleasant. Would go back.

It's a great salad bar with so many choices. I had to ask about hidden ingredients as I am gluten sensitive. One of the managers was kind enough to explain what was in each prepared salad. I felt comfortable making my selections, even pointing out which had a pudding base with unknown other ingredients. The choices were so plentiful it was easy to make a whole meal of it. The waitstaff were polite and attentive and I appreciated the manager's willingness to divulge the ingredients, though not the recipes.
