2 hot dogs, fries and a large drink for $9.99? Yes, please! I’ve never been here until recently but have heard about it for years. Let’s start with something I almost always talk about: I love my French fries to be crispy aka well done and 9/10 places either just ignore my request or their norm is just to undercook them for some reason, this place nailed it. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The hot dogs are Martin rosol’s which is the second best only to hummels and they were fantastic. Just so you know, “the sauce” is their chili. I didn’t know this and got two with the sauce so had to get two without after I finished them. I’ll say, I prefer making the dogs my way which could or could not include the sauce. The burger (which is only cooked well done) is still a good, flavorful burger and their in-house made grape look aid is really good too. Definitely give them a try if you have never been and you are in the mood for some classic hot dog and hamburgers.

Capital Lunch serves the most exceptional hot dogs I've ever tasted. Their hot dogs offer a delightful snap, and the meat sauce is truly impressive. However, the interior could benefit from a modern update as it still retains a 1970's look. Given the fantastic upgrades happening downtown, it would be great if Capital Lunch joined in and enhanced their ambiance as well.

The hot dogs are amazing! Prices are great and staff was extra nice. But when I went there was one person there and they were snoring. The eating area could definitely use a make-over.

Excellent hot dog, good service, love that they kept the inside decor the same. The place is a New Britain landmark, no reason to change it. The sauce, I can't put my finger on it, but the current owners, at some point, must have changed the recipe, and in my opinion, not a change for the better. Slightly off from what I remember. Still a solid dog and worth a trip. Parking on Main St. can be a hassle, so parking in New Brite Plaza is a good option.

Once was a delicious Chilli dog now bland. Going down hill slowly. The older gentleman in the picture to the left on the wall, when he was around the food was DELICIOUS, now bland. PLEASE BRING THOSE EXCELLENT CHILLI DOGS BACK.

Man Ole man. I had doubts but I assure you, they quickly washed away. I wasn't in the mood for a burger but my niece insisted. I kept it simple and ordered a burger and fries. I cannot explain how good my burger was but I will say the burger to fixing ratio was superb! The fries were the bomb and there was alot. I ate slow so it could last longer lml. Street parking and the store front doesn't look like much but they are small and mighty. Great customer service, great prices and the wait wasn't long. I keep stalking me niece for another date to go again soon. Please try it because I know I'll be back lol. Ps if you're using a credit card expect an upcharge. My charge didn't match my receipt and I called to inquire why.

This is a favorite childhood place ❤ I got to bring my fiance here as I no longer live in CT. I was showing him my hometown n with that comes along the good food. The famous sauce to me if I may say is a little different but it still will do. My finance even bought a shirt for memories. He truly enjoyed the food n the people.

Family been coming here for years but this is my first time. I gotta say, I’m hooked! The secret chili is INCREDIBLE!
