Breakfast Menu "Cakes by Ron" Sarasota

Based off of reviews and reputation, we had thought that we’d have nothing but a good experience with Cakes by Ron; however, this unfortunately was not the case. Our tasting went well and we were excited about everything we had decided on. We ordered a 3 layer ivory and white wedding cake as well as 175 cupcakes. On the day of our wedding, we were surprised with how everything turned out. The cake was the wrong color and was tipping over at the top. Our wedding party jokingly took to calling it the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which was hilarious, but not at all what we had hoped for. We ended up having to cut it at the beginning of the evening so it wouldn’t fall over. When we cut into it, the groom and I noticed that the texture of the bottom layer was a bit odd, but as it tasted good (I’ll at least give them that!), we didn’t think too much about it. The venue staff later let us know that the bottom layer of the cake was essentially unable to be served as the slices were crumbling and falling apart. The largest part of this not cheap cake was unusable. As for the cupcakes, I didn’t try them, but my Maid of Honor who was at our tasting said they were fine, but smaller and didn’t taste as good as at the tasting. We were also surprised that the frosting on the strawberry ones was neon pink instead of the more natural, pale frosting at the tasting. There was no indication that what we received would be different from what we ordered. Any of these things individually would not have bothered us, but put together, we’re pretty unhappy. All in all, I can’t recommend them. The level of quality for the price was horrible. We know based on their instagram and other reviews that they are more than capable of doing what was ordered and we’ll never know why they dropped the ball so badly for us.

Got married this past March at the C’d’Zan mansion in Sarasota. Cakes by Ron did our cake for 100 guests. The whole process was flawless from start to finish- Ron and his whole team are truly top notch. From the sketch of our cake to reality, I was blown away. The team was attentive, and seemed to read my mind from what I was describing. They produced my dream wedding cake! I would highly, highly, recommend! :D

Cakes By Ron recently designed our wedding cake for 200 guests. Hands down, the most delicious and gorgeous wedding cake I have ever seen. The experience from start to finish was incredible, from our consultation meeting, communication leading up to day of, to the final product- everything was immaculate. I have never had so many people compliment or send follow up inquiries as to what kind of cake it was. If you need any recommendations, the white chocolate with mousse with berries and sugar crystals is absolutely to die for. We will be ordering all future cakes through Ron and his team!

We had our wedding at the Resort at Longboat Key Club, and lucky for us, that came along with a cake from Cakes by Ron. We had our tasting and design appointment with Nathan, and he was amazing! He helped us design our dream cake, and even let us have an additional tasting when we didn't get to try everything we wanted. We had a 4 tier cake, each with different flavors, and everyone loved all of them! Would highly recommend for any event! :)

We used Cakes by Ron for our wedding cake and we can’t say enough great things, from start to finish they all were a pleasure to work with. The team made it so easy and the flavors were amazing. 10/10
