User Reviews

To be honest I've had better Italian food at others restaurants but I loved the atmosphere and the service. The cauliflower appetizer had zero flavor not even the sauce made it better. The pesto pasta was good and it did taste homemade. Other reviews are saying this place is great so maybe I didn't come on a good day?

Our family really enjoyed the delicious food and casual atmosphere. Italian food is my favorite and a favorite in my family for generations. We shared and I liked everything we ordered, especially the beef ravioli. I definitely recommend having dinner here. My one regret is that this restaurant isn't closer to my home.

Blade 1936 hosted a fantastic milestone birthday for our boisterous group of 30 people. We reserved the back room in a custom table configuration. It wasn't a typical layout but they were accommodating and happy to try our approach. There is nothing more they could have done to make such a great night possible. The cocktails were excellent. We enjoyed Lisa Bella's, Manhattans, and other cocktails, and wine. The food was outstanding. Starters were Bruschetta, Pizza Margherita, and Pappardelle Alla Bolognese. Main courses were Bistecca Di Manzo Alla Brace (ribeye steak) and Salmone Alla Griglia Con Erbette (salmon) and both were excellent. Our friends are still talking about the food. Best of all, our server Sean was pulled in a dozen different directions throughout the night and never missed an opportunity to take great care of our friends. He was diligent, friendly, and responsive. He and his team worked hard to serve our loud and enthusiastic crowd. The service made the night for us. Of note, we also dined there before and after the party with the same high quality experiences. We live in Austin but I'd be tempted to make some trips just to go back. Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina, delicious.

Blade 1936 is still a great spot for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The ambiance is cozy and intimate, and the menu is full of interesting and creative dishes. While the cioppino might have been a miss, there are plenty of other dishes on the menu that are definitely worth trying. Blade 1936 is a great spot for a night out with friends or a date, and the food is definitely worth checking out.

Great experience as always! We extra stayed another night after IRONMAN 70.3 to celebrate with good food and a great family time. Bruschetta as appetizer, main courses bistecca di manzo, scalloppine di pollo, pappardelle ai funghi and pizza margherita are family favorites! Can’t pass on tiramisu for desert!

Kids had a pep. Wife and I enjoyed a carbonara pie, with a runny egg in the middle! Beat salad! Lovely service! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately this place is NOT celiac safe! I watched them make the pizzas and the staff is not careful or properly trained with food allergies. There is flour all over the kitchen and the pizza oven and I had to tell them not to use the gluten pizza cutter on gluten free pizza. However it was the most amazing gluten free pizza I’ve had in a long time. Also having vegan cheese is a huge plus! I hope they will better train the staff for allergies.

Great vibe. Very good service. From what I saw leaving the kitchen in general I’d say the portions are bountiful. I chose pizza which is why I came here tonight. Just look at this meat lovers pizza. OMG what’s not to like. The ingredients are amazingly flavorful and robust and this pizza is full them. Spicy would be the word that comes to mind. In the picture just look at that crust and toppings with just the right amount of char. This would have been the perfect pizza except the crust was limp. I mean noodle limp. It was virtually impossible to pick a piece up and eat it. I couldn’t even fold in an attempt at eating it by hand because it collapsed like an overdone lasagna noodle spilling all those heavy delicious ingredients onto the plate. So my conclusion is that as long as you knife and fork this pizza you’ll love it. But if you expect something to pickup fold and consume in the manner of Italy or Brooklyn the one I had did not deliver that experience. I also ordered a capresse salad to take away. This simple but simply excellent salad consisted of creamy mozzarella between flavorful heirloom beefsteak tomatoes with a sweet balsamic vinegar to compliment the greens and basil. Great value for the price, with excellent portions and friendly service.
