Big Jo's is awesome. The food is delicious. The prices are cheap by Los Angeles standards, you will be amazed. The service is super friendly and fast. The employees are so friendly and get everything right without you even asking. The vintage look and home feel will keep you coming back and is so much fun. It's no wonder when restaurant has survived since the 50s. I can't believe after being born and raised in LA that finally stopped in after so my drive bys and so should you. Burgers, Pastram and Philly Cheessteaks OH My and don't forget the loaded chili cheese fries with onions.

Purchased two pastrami sandwiches with extra meat for $21.40. The name is called Big Joe's; however there's nothing big about the sandwiches. I was looking at the cooks make the sandwiches and stated these are with extra meat. I'm assuming she's the owner because she said they measure out 8 ounces of meat as we walked out the door. By the time we get to the car and open up the wrapping it's a pitiful sight for the price of the goods. You tell me if this is 8 ounces of meat total with 2.0 ounces of extra meat. My husband went inside and asked her how much meat comes on the regular sandwich? She said 6 ounces of meat is the regular amount of meat on the sandwich. Nor did she tell me there was a surcharge to use your credit card when I had cash. SMH!

I have passed by Big Jo's for years, always intrigued and meaning to stop. This time I finally made time to stop and try it out. And am I ever glad that I did! I tried the Breakfast Special that is advertised on the exterior wall. It's the first time that I've ever had Pastrami for breakfast, but definitely will not be the last! The staff is great. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. Cooked to order. It's worth your time to stop by Big Jo's.

Great food! Neighborhood spot for great burgers and breakfast sandwiches! Hey take cash or $8 minimum for cc orders. Beat the rush with a phone order. Solid cheesesteak and get the sauce! Tuna and egg salad are solid options too. Subs are tasty and made to order. Clean and friendly and family owned and operated! Support locals!

I love old hamburger stands. I passed by and stopped in for a burger. Burger combo was good it has an adjacent parking lot. Very friendly staff

This place is AMAZING for what it is. It is a little shack in Santa Monica and it screams mom and pop at you. What's best is i think it's owned by a few Korean ladies who make BOMB burgers and French fries. They have a pretty large menu with a bunch of things. The food is decently priced (comparable to in and out, but local!!) and the staff was extremely nice when taking my order. The food came out relatively fast - I ordered French fries ($2.50) and a double bacon cheeseburger, extra pickles and no tomato ($6.85). With tip my tab was just over $13.00. They even have a little seating section at the end of the building which is a modge podge of plastic tables and chairs and I wouldn't have it any other way for what it is. I will for sure be coming back here and bringing friends.

Great and affordable spot for burgers and sandwiches with a few veggie options. I had the mushroom and swiss burger but subbed in a Gardenburger patty and it was perfect, as were the crispy fries.

These guys rock … it’s a great burger - especially if you chase it with a Mountain Dew.
