User Reviews

Excellent pizza and mozzarella sticks!! Great service and super friendly staff. Barnaby's Pizza atmosphere is very cool. Looks like an old style pub inside. Lots of wood rafters and tables. Plenty of TV screens if you want to watch a game. Great beer on draft. All around great experience. If you are looking for really good pizza, hand tossed dough with fresh ingredients look no further. Highly recommend.

The food was pretty superb! We were from out of town and decided to make a pit stop for some grub and found this place! We tried a pepperoni pizza, breadsticks, fries, and the onion rings. All were very good! Since we're not from around here, it's hard to tell if people are serious or joking, but another customer made a joke about us being too slow as we were reading the menus. It's fine and all, but it just felt like a weird thing to say. All in all good experience! I liked the low lighting since I'm shy about eating out and all in public.

We were on a road trip from California, taking our kids around to look at a variety of universities. We found this place right after we finished touring Notre Dame University. We waited about 25 minutes; Their pizza is the best pizza I ever tasted. The moment we tasted the pizza we knew every minute of waiting was worth awhile. The ingredients tasted super fresh and delicious. David is a young chef working behind the counter. He told us he made the pizza with love and we did in fact taste it! The nice lady (I completely regret I didn’t ask for her name) told us that they built the oven starting from scratch and sliced all their ingredients fresh. Their pizzas do take a little longer to make compared to fast food, but the freshness is worth every wait. If any of my two younger children get into Notre Dame University, I’ll definitely come back around to experience this flavor again! Thank you!

The food here will not disappoint. Menu options are limited to your creativity because you essentially build your own pizza. There is no table service, but they do have a walk up bar that serves alcohol. Take a short walk down the street afterward for dessert at Whistle Stop Ice Cream.

I've been hearing for years about how amazing the pizza is, and I'm sorry to say that I just don't get it. The atmosphere is really cool and the service is great. If you go, get an ice-cold pitcher of beer. There's drink specials during week.

Ordering was odd. I asked how ordering worked and got a blank stare. Another worker chimed in and explained how their system worked. Food orders are placed at one counter, drinks at another. Pizza picked up at one counter, other food at another area. Numbers are called out when it's ready. The pizza didn't have a lot of flavor. I could barely see or taste any of the pizza toppings. The flavor I did taste was a sweetness (maybe from sauce) and cornmeal. I like thin crust but the crust was very hard. The outside crust was too hard to eat so we left most of it behind. The good – there's plenty of parking, I liked the old, low light pub dining room and the lady who stepped in to take my order was very helpful and nice.

Excellent pizza. We were in a bit of a hurry and needed a quick bite. We walked in and placed our order at the counter and only waited about 10 mins. The pizza was very good, as well as the cheesy garlic bread! The atmosphere is very dark, but we liked it. Would return! If this review has helped you, please give it a thumbs up!

Barnaby's is a great place for pizza! While not the only thing they serve, but one of the best places for pizza in South Bend. The pizza is thin crust, which I don't usually care for, but it is great at Barnaby's. There are other places in town that are great for other crusts, but Barnaby's is the best thin crust pizza in South Bend! The atmosphere is great, dark, and a little background noise, but not too noisy. You can carry on a normal conversation at normal volume. You order drinks and food separately. The drinks you order from the drink/bar area (back left when you enter) and the food at the counter (to the right of the drink area). Food is picked up (when your number is called) from the pickup station (to the right of the cash registers, which are to the right of the food counter). Barnaby's is a total must go to place if you want thin crust pizza in South Bend!
