Going out on a Thursday evening we found the restaurant quiet and not full of customers. That said... The food was THE BEST I have ever had! I would highly recommend everything. Our sushi was the freshest I have ever eaten and beautifully presented. Can't wait to return.
Overall, I had a great experience at Bambu Hibachi Sushi and Bar. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience. The food is fresh and flavorful. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is inviting. The prices are reasonable. The hibachi chefs are entertaining. Sushi deluxe, the dark angel roll, and the spicy cowgirl roll were outstanding! We sat at the bar, the service was excellent and very friendly. Food and drinks were timely on what appeared to be a busy evening. Best sushi we have experienced in Danbury.
Some of the best Asian cuisine I’ve had in the area! Great appetizers, sushi and fried rice. Everything tasted fresh. Highly recommended 👍
It's a good place for sushi. We have been there many times. The service is good and the food is good. The portions seem to get smaller and the prices go up. That's pretty common these days unfortunately.
When the old owner was there this place was top notch, since the new owner took over this service has dropped terribly. Our waitress today was like half asleep and not aware of what was going on. We made a reservation for 7:15 werent served until 8:15-8:30 and manager didn’t care. We ordered food and my aunt order a pineapple fried rice they made up some concoction and I had to ask what happens to the pineapple - they said they didn’t have it so I asked for it to be taken back and off the check - check comes hasn’t been taken off. The service was slow other than the cook who did the hibachi he was very welcoming and did great with my children which I appreciated. Other than that we won’t be returning until service becomes their #1 priority.
Love the sushi and the atmosphere of this place. Plenty of seating on a Friday night. Also some outside seating. They have high chairs for your kids. The appetizers ( shumai, gyoza and edamame) were cooked perfect. The sushi was amazing. I got the godzilla and dynamite rolls which i would get again. My wife got spicy tuna rolls and she enjoyed everything as well. We have to try the hibachi next.
Since moving to Danbury from NY in 2020 this has been the only consistent sushi place we could find. We would order take out once every 1-2 weeks. It wasn’t outstanding but it was decent and consistent. At the end of June we ordered take out and it was outstanding, everything was above top notch quality. We thought maybe the owner had changed. Then we went on vacation and when we returned at the beginning of July we couldn’t wait to order from here again. When we did order, we ended up throwing half the food away. It was awful. Sushi was not fresh at all, a lot of the fish smelled spoiled, soft shell crab was rotten, sauces were missing. We ordered again during August it was somewhat ok but not the consistency we are used to. We ordered again last night and we threw out most of the food. There is a dish soap taste in their brown sauce, the eel is sour from going bad, soft shell crab made my mouth numb from being old and spoiled. Such a shame as I wish it would go back to how it was before. I will really miss this place but I’m tired of giving it so many chances. 3x in a row is enough for me. Also it doesn’t help how rude the staff are, the hostesses really feel bothered when you talk to them. I hope this place can get it together but we will not be returning. Sadly we will no longer be loyal customers here.
