First time there, some friends recommended the place. The staff were so friendly!! The food was pretty awesome!! I chose the chopped brisket sandwich, loved it! BBQ sauce was great!! Wife chose the pork ribs, it was pretty awesome too!! I'll be going back to try other dishes on the menu!!

My first time dining at Back Forty Smokehouse. I ordered the 2-meat plate (my choices: boneless chicken breast and jalapeno sausage) with a choice of either two sides or fries (I believe the fries are hand-cut); I chose fries. The BBQ sauce choices are regular and spicy, but I asked for both. Both meats were very tasty, with a mild smokiness, and the fries stayed hot for quite a while. I really liked both BBQ sauces. Both had a smokey vinegar/pepper taste, but the spicy definitely had that kick on the back end. The restaurant has an inviting front porch area and a outside patio area, should you want to dine alfresco. Since we are experiencing a terrible summer heat wave right now, I recommend dining inside with a cool beverage. Oh, and this place has a bar, too. The interior is a rustic meets slightly industrial look, with some exposed brick walls. They also have plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sport. Decent amount of parking available. Overall, I really enjoyed Back Forty Smokehouse and will definitely come back for more. I really want to come back here when and if the weather turns cooler for the fall season.

Wow! What else to say but wow! The wife and I love anything BBQ and love trying new places but this time she ate all the coleslaw first. Said it was on point! Lol. The brisket and ribs are to die for. The sauce is perfect, not sweet, not tart just perfect. The staff is knowledgeable when asked about the cuts and were helpful on the menu since it was our first time in. This is my new favorite BBQ place in the State of Texas not just the DFW area. I will be bringing friends here to impress.

Was the best choice we made for over 60 guests. During the planning of our daughter’s college graduation party, we set out to try different smoke houses with goal of picking one to cater. When we went to Back Forty BBQ to test, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like! We’ve ordered from there quite a few times before the party just to make sure that the quality was the same each and every time, it was fantastic! The owner, Mark, was very gracious and informative every step of the way. He contacted us the day of to let us know he was running a little behind, but we weren’t worried. The food was outstanding! Everyone at the party raved about the food and had more than one helping! We did moist brisket, turkey breast, German sausage, Mac’n cheese, jalapeño mac’n cheese, pinto beans, bbq beans, potato salad, coleslaw and green beans…we were not disappointed. And leftover food was just as good the next day!

portions are huge. everything people said about the jalapeño Mac and cheese is true. kids meals not a ton of meat but they get 2 big sides with it. the whole family loved it.

This is an old building that was a feed store, so it is pretty rustic inside, but very clean. The serving line was staffed with 3 guys that were very friendly and attentive to what you wanted. My wife and I had the sliced brisket sandwich, he got a fresh one for our sandwiches. We also got sides, coleslaw potato salad and fried okra. Okra was hot as cooked to order. Coleslaw was perfect and potato salad was chunky. Brisket was plastic fork cutting tender. Sauce on side. One team member came by our table twice to make sure all was good. Great patio for outdoor eating. Restrooms were clean. The high point was the friendliness of team members. We enjoyed and recommend you go.

I came solo to eat with my dog outside on the patio. They let me skip the line and order quickly. They even brought it out to me super fast. Brisket sandwich and okra were hot and fresh! Kudos!

Chopped brisket was delicious. I'm not usually a Mac&cheese fan, but the jalapeno M&C was very good. The nacho plate was great. Fried okra was a favorite too, but be careful. It's not cooked until you order, so it's hot when they bring it to your table.
